Golf Cart, Bicycle and Moped Rentals

When visiting Put-in-Bay... Golf Carts, Bicycles and Mopeds are the primary method of transportation. PutinBayOnline recommends Delaware Carts for all your golf cart and bicycle needs.

Delaware Carts features two, four, six and eight passenger golf carts for rent hourly, daily, overnight or weekly. All of Delaware Carts rentals are gas powered high quality Club Car golf carts. Gas powered cars run for days not hours like electric carts for all day dependability. Gas Powered carts run a consistent speed all day and do not slow as electric carts do as the day progresses.

Delaware Carts is Put-in-Bay's only full time overnight cart rental. The rental facility is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay next door to Mr. Ed's Bar & Grille just a block from the Jet Express or a 5 minute cab ride from the car ferry. Keep any cart overnight through 12 noon the following day for an additional $20.

All Golf Carts from Delaware Carts are street legal and include proper safety equipment including headlights, taillights, turn signals, roofs and seatbelts.

For Moped Rentals, Island Moped Rentals LLC is Located at the Edgewater Hotel on the main street in downtown Put-in-Bay just a one block walk from the Jet Express or a 5 minute cab ride from the car ferry.

Mopeds are Tomos Brand single rider mopeds and a fantastic way to tour Put in Bay. They will run all day on a single tank of fuel and are easy to operate. When operating a golf cart or moped, please yield to any traffic that is bigger than you and let them pass. If you're riding a bicycle, please ride single file and to the side of the roadway.

Golf cart and moped operators should also yield to any larger traffic. Carts don't move that fast and can bottleneck traffic such as busses or taxis which are moving people to and from the ferry services. If you decide to stop and sightsee, stop your cart or moped and move as close to the right shoulder as possible to let larger traffic pass and then continue on your way.

Golf carts and mopeds are licensed vehicles on Put-in-Bay Island and therefore are operated under the same set of laws as any other motor vehicle (automobile) which means you must posses a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Please do not let anyone operate your golf cart or moped unless they are a licensed driver.

Golf Cart and Moped Road Rules

• Be aware of your surrounding traffic at all times.
• Move to the side for larger and faster traffic.
• Do not stop your cart or moped in the roadway, or on the edge of the road to sight-see.
• Do not drink and drive!!!!
• Do not drive onto private property. Put-in-Bay is mainly residential property privately owned by individuals.
• Wear your seatbelts. Make sure your kids are wearing theirs.
• Stay seated at all times until the golf cart comes to a complete stop with your seatbelt fastened
• No U-turns.
• Be considerate of island property owners. Do not drive thru yards or on private roadways.
• If you want to bring your own golf cart to the island you must contact your local Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to get your cart registered and licensed. Your cart must display an Ohio license plate from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Make sure you bring your registration along.

Island Club Taxis utilizes multiple 15 passenger vans with our famous island club logo on every van, so we are easy to identify. Our drivers are friendly, professional, and in uniform. All businesses on the island will recommend that you leave your vehicle on the mainland, as there is extremely limited parking on the island, especially in the downtown area where most of the attractions are located. Island Club Taxis will meet you at the ferry boat of your choice and handle all of your luggage and camping gear for you. Our normal business hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 AM, seven days a week during season. Additionally, we are open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day, including all major three-day holiday weekends.
